1. To get the maximum performance from HP prbook 4720s battery, fully optimize the laptop’s power management features prior to use. Power management is a trade off: better battery power conservation in exchange for lesser computer performance. The power management system conserves notebook battery power by setting the processor to run at a slower speed, dimming the screen, spinning down the hard drive when it’s not in use and causing the machine to go into sleep mode when inactive.
2. Keep your HP prbook 4720s laptop battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-Ion laptop batteries which do not suffer from the Memory Effect.

3. New laptop computer batteries come in a discharged condition and must be fully charged before use. It is recommended that you fully charge and discharge your new HP probook 4710s notebook battery two to four times to allow it to reach its maximum rated capacity.

Some helpful tips for the HP prbook 4720s laptop battery usage:

  1. New laptop batteries are generally offered empty. The first filling has to be as long as possible (minimum 4 hours) and do not use the battery before fully charged.
  2. If you can keep your battery cool, keep it. But that doesn’t mean to put it in freezer or something like that.
  3. Don’t plug in HP prbook 4720s battery when you are plugged in by means of an HP EliteBook 8530p AC Adapter.
  4. Don’t wait for battery to be completely empty to charge again, that method was for old type batteries.
  5. If you didn’t use your battery for a while, don’t try to fully charge it, use it at least its occupancy rate is 10%.
  6. If you buy a spare laptop battery, don’t wait for your battery to die, because your spare battery will also die when it waits.
