HP Chromebook 11 goes on sale in Australia
HP Chromebook 11 laptop computer has goes on sale in Australia, currently available at Harvey Norman and JB Hi Fi stores, the Chromebook weight 1.04-kilogram, with 11.6-inch diagonal display, claims to have more than 6 hours of laptop battery life.
Built in partnership with the world’s second-largest notebook maker, HP, the $399 notebook runs Google’s Chrome operating system rather than Windows, but otherwise sports an array of features that should be familiar to notebook PC owners, including a laptop power supply that won’t overheat and melt, causing minor property damage to your pillow.
It also comes with a micro-USB charger – so you can charge an Android smartphone or tablet pc– and 2 gigabytes (GB) of RAM, 2 USB 2.0 Ports, standard HP HSTNN-LB72 Battery, a webcam and Wi-Fi versions a/b/g/n.
The HP Chromebook 11 has an 11.6-inch, 1366 x 768 pixel screen, a 16GB hard drive, a HP Compaq presario cq42 battery advertised to last for up to 6 hours, and weighs a measly 1.04 kilos thanks to its magnesium chassis.
Google claims that users can do most tasks in offline mode when not in reach of an internet connection – a claim that is hotly disputed by Microsoft in TV advertisements, where it says you need to connect to the internet to get “much done” on Chromebooks.
