HP is readies an Android laptop: HP Slatebook 14
HP said to ready an Android laptop, following the Chromebook push.
That appears to be the question Hewlett-Packard is posing, as it readies an Android laptop, according to Notebook Aussie. HP Slatebook 14 design looks similar to HP‘s Chromebook 14 but Notebook Aussie has it pegged as running Android — not the Chrome OS.
The Slatebook 14 bears no resemblance to HP’s first crack at an Android laptop: the Android-based Slatebook x2 laptop-tablet hybrid released last summer, which CNET gave 3 stars.
The display specifications appear to top the Chromebook 14. Notebook Aussie says it will be available with a 1,920×1,080 resolution screen, a big step up from the Chromebook’s 1,366×768.
ChromeBook is for a different market… Care free and cheap. There’s no account management, no OS management, etc. And they are cheap. Android laptop with pavilion dv6 battery is for those who want a bigger than tablet screen with full keyboard and mouse and filesystem with accounts, etc. I’m one of those people but I want to see more choices first before I buy one. I’ll gladly ditch my Nexus 10 for this…. And keep Nexus 7 for everything else.
