Skype app on Android update consuming less battery life

Microsoft rolled out an update for Skype app on Android focused on consuming less mobile tech devices battery life. And claims you can now run the app in the background all day without ever worrying about draining your device battery power to empty.
The latest update also fixes a few bugs that were causing issues for Skype users on Android. A problem on Android 4.4 KitKat involving the camera has apparently been fixed along with a bug that blocked audio and video calls for tablets without Bluetooth capability. You’ll also notice your contacts from Windows Live Messenger now appear in the default view, meaning you don’t have to dig around in the app for them anymore.
Skype admits that its Android app is still a work in progress and promises to roll out more updates in the future. Skype app on Android should already be updating automatically on your device, but you can kickstart the process by heading to Google Play. Microsoft also notes that a similar update is coming to Amazon’s Kindle Fire platform later this month.
