Before starting, remember to power off your GoPro entirely. Start by unclipping the black latch for the camera’s case. You should now be able to open the case up and see the AHDBT-501 Battery for GoPro Hero 5/6/7 4K Camera. Using a metal spudger, gently pry the back open between the back panel and the case.
Unplug the black, red, and white wires from the white adapter. This disconnects the battery from the connecting motherboard so you can remove it. Using the spudger pry the AHDBT-301 Camera Battery for GoPro Hero 3 from the bottom plastic piece, which is white in color. The battery is glued to said plastic so some gentle force may be necessary.
You should be able to remove the GoPro’s battery successfully now after you got above guideline. If you cannot do so, however, you most likely missed a step.
